Crazy drivers at work <PICS>

I swear, lately there hasn't been a shift that I worked during which I didn't nail at least one of these idiots.

103-MPH in a 45-Zone "I have to be at my national Guard PT formation in an hour."

(he just got a simple speeding ticket)

Or this person........

108-MPH in a 55-Zone "I'm driving a friend home from a concert and didn't know I was speeding."

"Do you even know what the speed limit IS here?"

"Uhhhhh, Eighty????"

He got a reckless driving charge, because of having a passenger, plus open alcohol in the car and a loaded SP-101 that he lied to me about.

wow...some people just don't think...I could only imagine the response you get with certain people.

We don't need fiction....you just can't top reality.

Re: RE: Crazy drivers at work <PICS>

We've got a Lamborghini somewhere around my house and I see him pulled over by CHP at least twice a year. Some people never learn..

103 in a 47 and only a speeding ticket? You are very nice to some real brain dead folks. I think I would have offered him an escort to PT just to make sure he made it on time...LOL.

So, because someone is speeding, they are automatically an idiot? That's a pretty far-stretching generalization. I see cops doing stupid stuff all the time... speeding, talking on the phone while driving (illegal in CA), eating, running red lights, playing solitaire on their onboard computer, too fat to be able to quickly dismount their vehicle in an emergency, etc, etc.
Yet, if I drive over the posted speed limit, regardless of the reason, I'm an idiot? I'd put my driving skills and situational awareness up against any cop, and day... but since I'm not a cop, I must be an idiot... :?:
This is why everyone "loves" cops so much... good job!

IMHO a little speeding is one thing. An excess of 100 in a 45 zone makes them an idiot. And i'm not a LEO

Nitesite, thanks for posting the pics and the excuses that go with them. I'd like to hear more good stories from the cruiser side of the windshield if you are inclined to share them.

The highest I was ever pinched for was 20 over the limit doing 45 in a 25 zone through the rich neighborhood on my birthday. My parents were pissed at me until 2 days later when I pointed out to my Dad that he was doing 45 in a 25 on different stretch of road. When I was a kid I got out of one ticket when the trooper asked where I worked. I said the restaurant name and pointed out we gave 1/2 off to all police. I have done worse than 20 over the limit but wasn't caught. Those are now fading glory day memories for a middle aged dad.

Around here it seems like they under post what is a safe speed to drive by about 10 mph, ignore speeding for 364 days and then out comes the speed trap.

Onespeed, I think you are taking it a little to seriously. Things are more laid back around here.

^ Hey Onespeed, does this not seem idiotic to you?

I have been extremely lucky with getting pulled over. I have only gotten warnings for doing well over the speed limit and doing stupid crap coming home from work late at night lol...

lol he lied to you about the Loaded SP 101?? Did he think you were going to let him go after that?

You are 2 posts in here. On a gun forum. Bashing a cop. Who also is a moderator here.
It's obvious to me you have a bone to pick with cops. Probably because of something you have done in the past, and got caught. So now you're "generalizing" them all. Now who's the one with a far-stretching generalization?

First of all everyone who is human does idiotic stuff……everyone. Some of us get caught and some of us dont. You shouldn’t take his post so personal because I guarantee it wasn’t meant that way.
He was showing us a little view of his life and possibly a little vent about stupid ass people. Until you have to deal with the public you can never criticize someone who does because there some people out there that are serious waists of skin…but all you just have to do is wave your fist at them in traffic….he has to deal with their stupid ignorant asses.
I couldn’t do it , I would be locked up….for instance , if I pulled you over and you had the balls to spout off some stupid crap like that to my face I would stomp a mud hole in your chest….so I couldn’t do it…..That’s why I am happy there are people like Nitesite who have infinite patients with people who deserve nothing better than the beating of their lives…..

Try not to stereotype , everyone is an individual.

P.S. No one gives a rats ass whats legal in CA....lol

If I may... I would like to add to the list of "Obviously Idiotic Things". He lied to a Police Officer about a Loaded Firearm... Not only Idiotic... but disrespectful, unsafe and probably didn't help his case in future court. :|

We are a friendly bunch here Onespeed... but don't take kindly to strangers being super offensive and on the attack.

I would venture to "generalize" that the screen name says it all. Onespeed, while I pegged you as a troll at first, I realized you actually had a meaningful post somewhere else on this forum. I would suggest you keep it to that ;)

Oh and nitesite, thanks for not letting idiots get by with crap like that! I was young and dumb once, got pulled over the same week I got my license doing 80 in 55. You know what, I sure didn't back talk the trooper that handed me the ticket. Nor did I complain about paying the $300 dollar fine, and I sure kept my mouth shut when dad told me your walking your ass to your dates until further notice!

Onespeed,

I gotta say, I really didn't see that one coming. Thank you for your candor. :)

Just for the record, my "number" for me to even get mildly interested in a driver who is over the posted limit, is somewhere around 18-20 MPH above. And several of them who are momentarily stopped find themselves released with no more that a gentle warning not to speed in my jurisdiction.

Last week I wrote a total of five traffic citations. I hardly think that places me in the category of being a traffic nazi (my word, not yours).

And also for the record... I dress, act and drive on duty as though the whole world is watching me and half of them are taking video.

Enjoy your time here on the forum. Just please, for me, try not to make an excess of "far-stretching generalizations" in your posts. And in particular the threads that I start. If that is your nature, you and I will discuss that privately if it does come to that.

All I can say is...you and every other officer who takes their responsibilities to heart, have my utmost respect. Thank you for watching out for my ass. Hopefully "Zero Speed" will meet an officer who will teach him a whole new respect for policing.

Isn't that the truth. It fits me, especially when I was younger.

I appreciate that Nitesite. You aren't just out there to be a revenue generator. I would say at 18-20 over that is where safety is usually starting to be jeopardized.
