When I ask if anyone ever got one of "those" ideas, I'm referring to something that seems, well, kinda stupid.
I've got some Mother's Back to Black (yeah, you can probably tell where I'm going with this ), and yesterday I was using some. As I was using it, inspiration suddenly hit me. Why not try it on the forend and stock of my 500? I just got done trying it on there. To my surprise, it actually made the stock and forend a bit darker. The stock is now a closer match to the receiver than before. I would have posted a picture, but the camera probably wouldn't catch it right anyway. It'd probably end up looking like just another picture of the 500. So, yeah, if you have a 500 with synthetic stock and want to blacken it up some, you could try that Mother's Back to Black stuff.
