I picked one of these up for picking up brass and for picking up acorns.

I have not had a chance to try it on brass yet but it works great for acorns.

Only took me about 20-30 minutes to fill all these buckets.

We use those for Pecans down here. Great tool. Never used them for brass, but I suspect weight and caliber would be a factor. Probably wouldn't work for anything under .38 for example.
