UPDATE Thought instead of making a new thread Id just edit this one.
About 10 years ago my Grandfather gave me this old gun, sadly I can say this is only gun Ive owned that I have never shot. Reason is this old gun has the wrong forend or at least I beleive it does. When I first got my grandfather had used some glue and duck tape to hold the barrel in. I removed the forend to try and figure out what was going on and fix it. Sadly alot has happened since that time, including my Grandfather passing away 2 years ago. Now that Ive been bitten by the bug again, I want to fix it and maybe do a little customizing. Nothing major either a new stock design or at very least a refinishing of the exsiting stock.
Here is my issue, this barrel has what I would refer to as a clip end coming off the barrel and the forend is one designed for a screw. The hole for the screw and the hole my Grandfather drilled out are in 2 diffrent locations. Now Ive scoured ebay, brownells, midway, gunbroker, and a few other places for this forend. And to be completely honest if I find one and the hardware isnt included I'll be a little lost on finding the peices.
Fixing up this gun would mean alot to me especially if I do it myself. However, I dont have the tools to build a new forend. Im worried about buying a aftermarket stock/forend kit cos Im 99% positive it wont match up. I just dont think I'll use it unless I can get it fixed the right way and not need any duct tape.
And the issue part......
