Half way to Vegas

I love Vegas, I wish I was out there right now! What are you guys into? There are so many things to do while your there. Red Rock is only 10-15 minutes from the strip and a really nice place to hike, take pictures, etc if you want a break from the strip.

I would suggest a real cool trip...
You get an area map...
You head out the East end of Vegas...

From Las Vegas take I-15 south to I-215.
Exit I-215 East to I-515.
Exit I-515 South to Boulder City.
I-515 turns into US-93.
Continue on US-93 through Boulder City until you reach Hoover Dam.

From there...

Take I-15 South to the I-215 East exit (to Henderson).
Exit and take I-215 East.
I-215 turns into Lake Mead Blvd.
Take Lake Mead Blvd through Henderson, past the turnoff to Lake Las Vegas, to Hwy 147.
Turn left onto Hwy 147 which will take you to Lake Mead Recreation Area...which includes the Valley of Fire in the Mojave Desert.
**Make sure you stop at Mouse's Tank** and see the old petroglyphs

You will see some of the most awesome and sceanic areas of the Southwest...
My wife and I did this whole thing on a Harley Fatboy after she flew in from Gitmo on her birthday December 12th...after it just had snowed in the high desert...words do not come close to covering it !! ( We've done this same trip three times...in six years...and we'll probably do it again next year )

A good strip club is the Spearmint Rhino...ask any cabby !!

Ok, unfortumately, no time to get away from the strip with this group. I did some gambling, toured some of the casinos, saw Penn & Teller, good food and drinking, and the spearmint rhino is the best in town for sure!
I think a week with the girlfriend is in order to escape the strip, as well as take her to all of the above. Thanks for the input and I will stash those maps away for the next trip.
