Long Time 870 Owner Here...

and I bought a 590A1, it will be here next week. Being a Remington guy it was a little tough not buying the 870 Police($500), but for $390 the Mossy was a steal. I also ordered a Blackhawk recoil reducing Compstock and Hogue 12" LOP short stock to try out. Anything else I should know, or look for?

Which model did you order? I think youll love it! I have the 51660, bead site 20" barrel, standard stock. I also have the Hogue short LOP and it is by far one of the best things I have added to my Mossberg!
 
I've got a model 51663, the 20" 590a1 with GRS and I absolutely love it. I also added the Hogue 12" LOP stock and wouldn't trade it for the world. Can't wait to hear your feedback and range report. Be sure to post up some pics when you get it...
 
Sweet! Good deal man, I havent used the GRS but many here have and love them!

This is the model with the OFM GRS and rifle sight front, yes? Not the SPX model? I guess the rear sight uses the holes that are drilled and tapped into the receiver. Just check that those are secure, I have heard on occasdion of them being loose from the factory, ythough I think at one time it was a much larger issue with the LPA GRS where the screws in the picatinny rail had been over torqued and stripped out of the receiver. Even then, if memeory serves, these issues were most common in the 930 SPX...

In any case, its worth checking out to at least make sure you dont lose a screw.

Yes I will get some pics up. The only plus one I've found is a Vang Comp and it sure is expensive for just one round. I guess a plus two would stick out past the barrel?
