Mossberg 183T .410 shotgun question

Hello,
Although I have several Mossberg firearms (all old ones) I just found this forum. I recently acquired a Mossberg 183T and sadly it had been abused. I am refinishing the gun and as I was sanding the metal I found a ring about midway down the barrel that appears to be a weld. It is an expert weld if that is what it turns out to be. I cannot see a ring inside the bore. Is there any chance this was something done by the factory?

I tried to get the angle so you can see the line and the slightly, very slightly raised bead (appears to be a bead). Malcolm

not sure,,,,,but it almost looks like marks from a pipe cutter.?????
