Mossberg 340KC .22 bolt action rifle

Overtrained

Copper BB
This was my grandfathers gun, aquired it when he past. Though well used it shoots fairly well. Could use a really good cleaning. Any insight on this model? It will take .22 shorts, longs and LR.

P.S..dont mind the bipod, I just layed the rifle on there for picture purposes.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather.

That is a great lookin' rifle and glad to hear you are going to carry it on another generation.

As far as knowledge on older Mossy's you want to contact Havlin. They are the pros when it comes to older Mossberg's for parts and info.

Thank you for sharing.

That is a good looking rifle, your Grandpa obviously took good care of her.
My 340 is a BC, but they are basically the same. I like old Mossberg 22's and bolt action shotguns, and a site I rely on for model specifications and years for both is http://home.epix.net/~damguy/
The site is LOADED with info once you learn your way around, and even has a message board.

A quick chart of models/years is found here http://www.gun-data.com/Mossberg_models_years.html

Numrich has parts and sometimes exploded drawings - http://www.gunpartscorp.com/

I'm sorry about your Grandpa. When you shoot his rifle, or even just hold it in your hands, he will be there with you. It's OK and normal to talk to him, I talk to my late Dad whenever I'm holding the Colt pistol he left me.
Keep the Old Girl clean and oiled, just like your Grandpa did, and never let her get away from you.
