Mossberg US 44 a , .22lr, trouble getting to fire

my dad purchased a OF Mossberg US 44 .22LR, would only fire sporadically, got new ammo, replaced firing pin, now no firing, which when got new ammo got to where wouldn't fire, you can hear it snap, wondering which way to go next? thanks for any help

Don't have any experience with the model 44, but I'd get in touch with Victor or Cheryl Havlin at Havlin Sales. They specialize in discontinued Mossbergs and nobody has more experience with the .22 models than they do. If anyone could answer your question, it's them...
