This is my first time posting on this forum, but ive been reading the posts about modifying the clamshell on the 715, so I decided to take it on myself and share the pictures with you guys.

This is what I started with today:

I started by removing about 3 1/2 inches from the rail cover, to achieve the carbine look.
Here it is immediately after cutting the rail cover:

I left the stock off and added the foregrip and reflex, kind of a cool look I think:

And here it is put back together. I plan on attempting to remove the carry handle and front sight soon. I'll keep you guys updated.

I did remove the front sight, carrying handle and stock. After paint it looks like this


The single point sling is connected to the pin that held the stock in place.

Looks good. How about some more info. How'd you cut it. Where'd you cut it? How'd you put it back together? Glue? Brace of some kind on the inside? Help me out as I'd really like to do this. Thanks.
 
Me too, this is my first mod but i wanted to shoot it first because im itching to shoot it. Then ill start the real mods, paint and all that stuff.
 
I cut mine but i think i cut to much off, yours looks better i think.
