New old gut question: Steel shot 500A

Conn 500

.270 WIN
Just dusted of my 500A I've had since the late 80's (Camper Combo-28" and 18" with wood stock and pistol grip-$189 back then). The 28" barrel still has the 80's vintage modified choke in it. Will I have any issues using steel shoot with this old choke? 7 shot steel, by the way. Can't find my choke tube wrench, either. Been 8 years since it was fired in anger.

You shouldn't have any issues sending steel shot through your modified choke.

In fact your mod. choke should pattern tighter with steel than with lead, likely producing a pattern closer to what you'd get with lead shot through a full choke...

Sure they can.

Hell, with the way things are made nowadays the older models are likely tougher than new ones...
