So I've been looking for lockable storage for my 500 and Stoeger Condor O/U. Thought about a small gun safe, and would love to have one, but I just don't have anywhere in my house that I can put one, and bolt it down. Add to that, I just got a second barrel for my 500 (smooth 18.5, it came with a fully rifled) and needed a place to store that, preferably with my gun, and without the chance of damaging either.
I just so happened to have a spare bass case laying around, so I took it to work yesterday with my 500, and new barrel. Just finished the final cutting on the inside for the Stoeger as well this morning. Thought y'all might like to see what I've got cooking.
