This started with Louisiana and a lot of people from different states have joined in. They are posting petitions on the white house website for their state to secede from the union. Apparently, if these petitions get enough support the rules require a white house response. I'm sure a lot of it is trying to be a thorn in BHO's side but then again a lot of people are pissed off right now at DC as a whole.
Other than Louisiana and Texas, states with secession-related petitions pending on the White House website now include Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee.
