using short shells in a 500

I have a 500 12ga. Can I use shells shorter than 2 3/4", such as the Herters one here?

Would using the shorter shell increase my capacity?

I remember watching a YouTube video on these shells and they did seem to cycle ok....But I wouldn't bet my life on it. The shorter shells also have a smaller shot capacity I.e. 3 or 4 vs. the standard 9. IMO I would stick with 2 3/4 shells for reliability.

A lot of it has to do with how fast you can reliably cycle your Mossberg and IF your Mossberg likes them to begin with. Like AK said, I wouldn't bet my life on the, however, it would be a fun range ammo!
