I didn't care for a plastic safety. I did some research and found that there are a lot of complaints of the plastic safeties breaking so it was metal for me. This one is alittle bigger and easier to operate....for me. Honestly, the pinned forearm is proabally a good unit but I like something rock solid so I changed it out also. It is a confidence thing for me. I like the shell sleeve on the stock. For me, this gun is perfect. It is sort of like a Ruger 10-22 in a shotgun for modding!
