Sounds like you had an excellent outing.
Having a variety to shoot also gets you the ability to see what works best for you.
Remington is a great gun as well. I own an 870 too but I always keep going back to my mossy. (She was my 1st SG) and you never loose sight of that first one.

You have the 6 position tactical stock? Does it cover up the slide action release requiring to move your fingers from shooting position to rack the slide?

Yes having the 6position/pistol grip does require me to move my fingers from the shooting position to rack the slide. But that problem is solved with an extended slide release made by shoten armory ~ which I will be purchasing soon. Or the use of the std stock Solves that issue too.
