Here you can see a very old (about 140 years) 16 gauge double shotgun ,made in Basque Country.It has been in the hands of a good gunsmither.

Absolutely lovely Spanish double

Almost 100% of that beautys have been made in Basque Country,Spain.

Thanks! the maker is Martin Amuategui ,his shop was Umbe in Eibar.it was a very inexpensive gun but shoots well every season, pheasant, grouse, rabbit... even the odd clays for fun!

I agree but over here in the UK the smallest barrel you're allowed by law is 24 inches,
USA, "Land of the free" TO RIGHT YOU ARE!

Similar law here in Ireland 25" barrel minimum length!

Grulla are very fine firearms indeed, I keep looking at your hammer gun any more pics! I don't know much info on Umbe shotguns but there was Julian Amuategui too !
