KaBar / Becker

Ordered a Becker/KA-BAR/ESEE BK14 Eskabar last week and it arrived today.

The Eskabar is a mash-up of two of the company's most popular designs, the Becker Necker and the ESEE Izula. Comes with a flat sided sheath and a length of paracord to use as a handle wrap if desired...

Specifications:

Blade Length: 3-1/4"
Blade Hardness: 56-58
Overall Length: 7"
Steel: 1095 Cro-Van
Weight: 0.15 lb
Shape: Drop Point
Blade Thickness: 0.165
Edge Angles: 15 degrees
Grind: Flat
Handle: 1095 Cro-Van
Sheath: hard plastic
Made in the U.S.A.

The knife and sheath are very light and thin...

This one will end up with a permanent place in my pack and I think I'm going to order another one to carry...

Wrapped the handle on the Eskabar this evening...

Used a thin 1/8" utility cord to keep the handle width to a minimum...

Nice wrap Les!

I love my 10, 14, and the new 24. I stripped the first two and got a crash course on caring for 1095 carbon steel. Started EDC'ing the 14 but tired of oiling it everyday. Picked up a 24 and so far so good in the Texas humidity.

The 10 and 14 stripped with forced patinas.
