I appreciate all of the help. There was a question embedded in my post:

Can I run bore brush crown to breach so long as I let it go all the way through? Not stopping half way and reversing is what I mean. I figure that is what I would have to do if not field stripping but running a brush through it. Yeah, I know, basic rifle knowledge which I am trying to get all cleared up. I know when disassembled, I can easily go breach to bore, but what if I want to run a rod while it's assembled? Can I go both ways is what I am getting at. Run the brush crown end to breah and then pull back through breach to bore/crown?

That will work just fine.

Just make sure you hold the rod at a spot that won't allow the brush to smack into the bolt face as it pushes out of the chamber...
