1st firearm from Oregon.

Thanks, we felt kinda bad for whichever clerk put the SALE tag on the wrong Mossberg, but the manager honored the price.

I really didn't like how loose the pinned forend of the Mossberg on the bottom felt and plan to give it a tactical makeover with this:

and that

I also have a new Kicklite ordered from dpharms http://dpharms.com/products/shot_gu...g_kicklite_shotgun_recoil_reducing_stock.html
I am not sure if I can add a rail to the bottom of the Phoenix Technologies forend that comes with it. Will have to check when it gets here.

We finally got out to shoot today. The wife and I went through a box of target loads each, a handful of 00 Buckshot and we each shot two of the rubber buckshot shells.

One of the other shooters called my Mossberg Tactical Persuader "legit".

After getting a feel for the gun, I set some milk jugs filled with water at 10 yards. My wife exploded the first one with birdshot and yelled "Did you see that? I hit that right on!"

I shot some cardboard boxes at 7 yards with 00 buck to check the pattern. All nine pellets in nice tight ovals four inches high and three inches wide. I also put an old keyboard out of its misery.

I seem to be shooting slightly to the left.

Oh yeah, now I gotta clean it. Any recommendations for cleaning kits?

For cleaning I like Hoppes 9 and a 12 gauge brass brush. Then follow up with Super Quick Clean Gun or Break free CLP on patches using a 12 gauge jag. Any 12 gauge cleaning kit from Hoppes or Kleen will probably due you well.

I use one immediately after shooting but I still clean the gun. It just makes it easier to clean.

I agree. Bore snakes take a lot of the grunt work out of cleaning. I have a variety of them for all my firearms.

But as mentioned, still do a thorough cleaning. Less problems down the road and keeps your firearm in good functioning condition.

Oh yeah---safety first!! Make sure it is unloaded and clear before any cleaning.
