Well im pretty new to shotguns but call upon me anytime!
Thank you Sir, will do.
I was too before I stumbled upon this site a few years back...
Havoc....does your ProMag sidesaddle have an aluminum back with plastic shell holders? How about a rubber gasket between the aluminum plate and receiver?
No answer? I guess I'll find out, I did some research and ordered a ProMag 7 shot sidesaddle today!
Got my Pro Mag Archangel sidesaddle today, took about 5 minutes to install on my 500 Persuader after I found the right tools. Very well made with an aluminum plate that the thick polymer shell holder attaches to. Includes a rubber gasket so aluminum mounting plate can't scratch the receiver. The tension adjusters really work well, not just a one size fits all. IMHO, this a top quality sidesaddle for the money!
sweet, what do you think about it ? quality wise
I would describe quality as excellent. Also excellent fit and finish, mounts very solid to the gun.
I have the 6 round tacstar but find it somewhat flimsy....i want the mesa tactical that gets phenomenal reviews but their site says you need a tactical foreend for it to work ??
Reason being that the "hunting" style forend runs up the front of the receiver when shucked. The shell carrier would prevent a full stroke rearward.
Midway has the Mesa 6 shell carrier for a good deal right now.
22 bucks off
Thanks for the midway info .....my 500 is tactical so im thinking i should be good
I just ordered the mesa tactical from midway ....thanks again for the heads up on the sale !
Tracking shows my side saddle coming today....ill post some pics after i switch it for my tacstar
Just installed the new mesa tactical
This is what I have: http://mossbergowners.com/forum/index.php?threads/havlin-sales-max-mount-review.1931/ Have had it on my shotgun for a couple of years now and the only thing I can complain about is I can't sight down the barrel ! I had planned on putting a halogen sight on it and never got around to it. Too much $$$$$ But for the purpose it serves (close home defense) I don't really need a spot on sight.
well i just got my first shotgun - a 500 cruiser 7 shot
hopefully this will screw to it
and i just received as a gift a Midway soft shell holder. i will now promptly rivet it to my sling.
Here's my home made side saddle. Made from kydex. I am not using velcro as I believe they attract a lot of lint. I made them in sets of two so I can add as many as I like or as little as I want. You can also place them in any position you want too. It also doesn't block the trigger assembly take down pin either. I'm probably going to make 20 gauge in future for my buddy's 500C.
Made some 20 gauge shell holders
