Hey guys/gals I have a question and I’ll apologize in advance if this has been asked or covered. I have the 930 18.5 barrel with breach barrel (end) I just tried installing the +2 extension kit (Choate) and after I got her all together she wouldn’t cycle through any shells. After reading some posts on here, I figure it was squeezing the extension tube too tight, which it was. My question is with such a short barrel, do I really need the support for the extension tube, or maybe can I simply leave it off. While that would solve my issue, I certainly don’t want to break it off and have a whole other set of issues. Any advice or thoughts? Thanks, guys.
you didn't specifically mention it, but I suspect your talking about a mag tube clamp?
if so, the spx comes with a mag extension but no clamp... so it doesn't necessarily have to be there... it's a shorter extension and less prevalent to getting snagged on something then maybe a really long 3 gun extension... some of those clamps can squeeze the extension into a canted angle and bind up the spring/shells/follower...depending on your planned use for the gun maybe searching the market for another clamp that fits better without distorting the mag extension would be the best bet but with a breacher barrel you have very little real estate to work with. Make sure you get one that will fit in there for both the circumference your working with(multiple sized and heavy walled barrels are available on the 930 and one size clamp will not fit all) and the length of barrel available before it expands for the breacher section.
look up "breacher clamp" in the search bar up top n it will pull up multiple threads with similar issues, some with pictures of solutions.
