Brother, it seems your problem is not with the Republican party, but with Christians.
Let me put it like this. I did photography work for the Tea Party in Oklahoma.
Mostly stuff like shooting the crowd at angles that made 400 people look like 1000. Stuff like that. The one thing that it was impossible to do however, was those "the children are our future" shots. Because there were very, very few young people there and most of the ones that were there looked like they'd been drug unwillingly to church on a Sunday morning.
By the time the second Tea Party event I attended rolled around. I realized, the Tea Party had a problem. They had morphed, in just a few short months, from a movement about economics and taxes, into a new version of "The Moral Majority", that almost buried the Republican Party in the 1980's. The Moral Majority died in 1989, because they were far more extreme than their children. In effect, they were a movement doomed for their lack of another generation. In the end The Moral Majority had a huge, powerful tractor and no seed corn for the next year.
I am strait up for taxing any church capable of building mega-churches the size of sports stadiums and meddling in the American political arena.
American Evangelicals need to be taxed back into the confines of their churches, until such time as their more moderate children can build a new church, more about worshiping Jesus Christ instead of the false idol of greed...The Golden Bull at the corner of Wall & Broad.
One has to decide, who's more immediately dangerous to American Liberty and the Constitution. Islamic Hezbollah in Lebanon or Southern Baptist Hezbollah here at home. I've voted to contain the external threats to liberty all my life. While the internal threat of Militant, Evangelical Christianity festered into a cancerous legalistic monstrosity, that's imprisoned and disenfranchised more minority's and black people, for non violent morality crimes, than the prison populations of Russia and China combined. The fact that they are obsessed with being imprisoned in FEMA camps is almost laughable, when compared to societal and economic havoc they've heaped on the nation with their failed war on drugs.
I've got a budget cut for you Mr Ryan. Lets cut the amount we spend on incarcerating non-violent offenders in this country by about 95%.
Ryan now claims he didn't understand that Ayn Rand was an Atheist, when he touted Atlas Shrugged all those years. He claims now, that Ayn's ideas can be translated into a Catholic version of Objectivism, more palatable to the Church. Though I'm not sure Ryan realizes that a Catholic version of Atlas Shrugged has already been written...It was called Mien Kampf.
Just replace the words Eternal Jew and Protocols of the Elders of Zion for the more American Identity Christian terms of Mud People Welfare Parasite and Protocols of American Socialism and Mien Kampf and Atlas Shrugged are practically the same song.
Hope that clears up my view of the dangers posed to American Liberty and Constitutional Freedoms posed by Evangelical Christians and the Catholic Church Blood_Trial...Since you brought it up.
